This 7 week course is designed to give you the confidence and knowledge to guide your puppy to become a well behaved and happy member of society. We cover the basics, such as sit, down, walking nicely on a lead, come when called, stay. ,We educate our puppies to be confident in new situations and be calm when handled, to be able to understand what they are expected to do in certain situations. We practice being handled at “the vets” and “groomers”, we have a visit to a working farm, and we help our puppies have self control in exciting situations. So please contact me for a booking form. Places are limited to 5 in any one class.

Both Puppy life skill classes and adult beginner classes will start again in early 2017.

The next puppy class – will start on February 5th at Caxton Village Hall. Please contact Sue by email re places. info@pet-positive.co.uk

Adult beginner classes will start in early March on Sunday afternoons – please email for more details.

We will also be starting some activity workshops in the spring and summer – keep an eye on these posts /facebook and sign up for the pet-positive newsletter.

There is only the one place now left on the upcoming course. the first session is for humans only, and takes place at Caxton Village Hall 10:00 – 11:30 on Sunday 2nd Oct.

Puppy class places

There are still two places left on the upcoming “life skills for puppies” course starting on the 2nd October. The first session is for humans only, and we go through the course content and the basic theory of puppy development, as well as getting to know each other and discussing any issues or concerns.

If your puppy will be vaccinated by the first practical session ( 9th October) and under 20 weeks old then they will be eligible to attend. please contact Sue by email or telephone for more information and to request a booking/registration form.

Xylitol additive warning

Xylitol a natural, sugarfree sweetner which is being used extensively in products for humans. Unfortunately if dogs get hold of and consume these products it can have very serious consequences. It can cause life threatening low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and large ingestions can result in acute liver failure.

The common products that contain Xylitol are sugar free gum, mints, breath mints, toothpaste, chewable vitamin tablets, nicorette, mouthwashes. There has been a recent warning that a new “healthy” low sugar peanut butter has come out on the market, this contains Xylitol. So if you use peanut butter sometimes in your dog’s Kongs or other toys, please read the label first.

If you think your dog has eaten a product containing Xylitol, immediately contact your vet.
